This bill sponsored by Rep. Kay Granger, known as the “Continuing Appropriations Act, 2024 and Other Extensions Act,” funded the government at its then-current spending levels for 45 days such that the legislature would have more time to figure out the government’s budget, a move that stopped the government from shutting down. CPAC opposes the political gamesmanship of the Republican party, opposes its reticence in fighting for spending cuts, and opposed this bill. The Senate passed this bill on September 30, 2023 by a vote of 88-9 and the bill later became law.
