The Mike Lee (CPAC rating 99%) amendment to the FISA reauthorization allows for the consideration of Friend of the Court Briefs, which allows outside parties to submit information or concerns about the case, which increases transparency and accountability.  CPAC understands the need for security but opposes the extreme measures to avoid scrutiny of any national security court and supported this amendment.  The Senate defeated the amendment on April 19, 2024 by a vote of 40-53.
