This bill prohibits the government from licensing new abortion clinics after the start of 2024. The bill also increases prohibitions on abortions that were originally allowed to be performed on unborn babies that’d reached 18 weeks of age. Additionally, the bill makes it such that physicians who have performed illegal abortions may now be considered to have engaged in unprofessional conduct. CPAC believes abortion is always a human tragedy, supports restrictions on the practice, and supported this bill. The House passed this bill on March 3, 2023 by a vote of 56-14 and the bill later became law.
