This bill creates the Utah Homes Investment Program, the likes of which use $300,000,000 of public funds to give out loans to housing developers. CPAC believes that taxpayers should not be placed on the hook to help fund affordable housing and opposed this bill. The Senate passed this bill on February 28, 2024 by a vote of 22-1 and the bill later became law.
