This bill reduces the top income tax rate from 5.75% to 5.5%. It also substantially raises the standard deduction for individuals and married couples. CPAC supports efforts to provide appropriate tax relief to Americans and supported this bill. The House passed this bill on January 24, 2023 by a vote of 52-48 but the bill stalled in the Senate.
