This bill adds “entertainment arena” to the definition of public arena to allow localities to collect sales tax revenue from arenas that they help finance. CPAC believes that taxpayers should not be placed on the hook to finance such facilities and opposed this bill. The House passed this bill on February 13, 2024, by a vote of 66-33, but the bill never became law.
