This bill requires the Virginia Employment Commission to establish a paid family and medical leave program that will pay out benefits for up to 12 weeks. CPAC believes that the negotiations between employers and employees should be kept free of government interference and opposed this bill. The House passed this bill on February 26, 2024, by a vote of 50-46, but Governor Youngkin vetoed the bill.
