This bill, under the guise of suicide prevention, enacts a variety of “red flag” laws and new mandates for firearms retailers. It also creates a mandatory waiting period that individuals must comply with when engaging in firearms transactions. CPAC supports the founders’ belief in the Second Amendment and opposed this bill. The House passed this bill on May 5, 2023 by a vote of 106-34 and the bill later became law.
