Vote Description

This bill grants the Department of Corrections the authority to acquire, sell, and distribute abortion medications to individuals, regardless of whether they are in the department’s custody or not. CPAC believes abortion is always a human tragedy, opposes the expansion of its practice, further opposes the usage of taxpayer resources to fund abortions, and strongly opposed this bill. The House passed this bill on April 20, 2023 by a vote of 55-40 and the bill later became law.
