Vote Description

This bill prohibits school districts from refusing to approve a textbook or instructional material for education use on the basis that it relates to the role of a "protected class" in history and public life. CPAC recognizes that this measure will be used to protect the usage of explicit materials in schools and opposed this bill. The House passed this bill on March 5, 2024 by a vote of 57-38 and the bill later became law.
