This bill makes it such that birthing centers no longer need a certificate of need in order to open and operate. It also exempts certain offices that desire to obtain an MRI machine from certificate of need requirements. CPAC supports certificate of need reform and supported this bill. The House passed this bill on March 9, 2023 by a vote of 75-20 and the bill later became law.
