This bill prohibits the state from taking actions that substantially burden a person’s free exercise of religion. It also prohibits the state from treating religious activities more restrictively than activities of comparable risk. CPAC supports efforts to maintain religious freedoms and supported this bill. The Senate passed this bill on February 28, 2023 by a vote of 30-3 and the bill later became law.
