Vote Description

This bill prohibits schools from compelling teachers and students to adopt or affirm certain divisive concepts. These concepts include those that state that one’s moral character is determined by their race or that one bears responsibility for the malfeasance of other members of their race. CPAC supports efforts to fight CRT and CRT-adjacent principles in the public education system and supported this bill. The Senate passed this bill on January 11, 2023 by a vote of 30-2 but the bill did not progress in the House.
