This bill establishes procedures for certain election recounts to be conducted by hand count, authorizes officials and candidates to request them, adjusts timelines, and funds implementation. It offers an additional check on machine tabulation to restore confidence when margins are tight. CPAC supports verifiable recount procedures that enhance election transparency and supported this bill. The House passed this bill on 2025-01-30 by a vote of 51-9, but the bill did not become law.
