This bill would designate charter schools as local education agencies, giving them the ability to seek state and federal funding themselves. CPAC supports efforts to promote the charter school system and supported this bill. The Senate overrode the Governor's veto of this bill on March 8, 2024 by a vote of 28-3 but the House failed to do so as well.
