US Representative Riley Moore from West Virginia, Co-founder and President of Patriot Mobile Glenn Story, CEO of Morris Industries Nate Morris, and the host from Newsmax, Bianca de la Garza, have a conversation at CPAC 2025 in Washington, DC. They discuss how big banks and companies, like BlackRock, threaten the coal, natural gas, and oil industries and an America-first agenda.
Bianca de la Garza begins the conversation by asking Rep. Moore about West Virginia being a top energy producer in the country and how banks and investment firms such as BlackRock and JP Morgan pose an existential threat. According to Rep. Moore, many of the coal, natural gas, and oil industries were divested and could not procure further funding due to the ESG framework of many companies, such as BlackRock.
“They were essentially being de-banked, and we had folks like BlackRock and the other big three moving investment away from these critical industries that just so happen to power the industries that power our country and are so important to the state of West Virginia”, says Rep. Moore.
Rep. Moore says he was, in 2022, the first elected official to divest tax dollars from companies like BlackRock.
Nate Morris then speaks about starting his company and the crucial role entrepreneurs and business owners play by being outsiders in “advancing President Trump with the America first agenda”. Speaking as a Kentuckian, Morris lauds Sen. McConnell announcing he would retire and how Republicans like him have purposely sabotaged President Trump's agenda.
Glenn Story speaks about the role his Patriot Mobile cell service has played in helping rural communities affected by the hurricanes last year. Patriot Mobile had a crucial role in assisting communities affected by the hurricanes by donating cell phone equipment and basic necessities.
Nate Morris highlights the importance of feeling hopeful and that President Trump has rejuvenated the American Dream. Morris hints at a possible US Senate run in Kentucky to counter McConnell-influenced candidates that stand against an America first agenda and “get those dreams in action”. Morris also points to government inefficiency, such as allowing Kentucky Fried Chicken to leave Kentucky under Democrat Governor Andy Beshear, and the need for prioritized America first values that keep business in Kentucky.
The conversation then turns to Rep. Moore and the Bill he has proposed in the House of Representatives to counter credit card companies who may try to track their customer's ammunition and firearm transactions, called an emerging category code. Rep. Moore then encourages more political action from conservatives.
