Earlier this summer, CPAC’s Center for Combating Human Trafficking hosted the 2025 International Summit Against Human Trafficking in Washington, D.C., bringing together leaders from across the nation to share strategies, celebrate progress, and chart the course ahead in our fight against modern-day slavery. The Summit was a testament to what can be accomplished when policymakers, advocates, survivors, and law enforcement unite behind a common purpose.
But our work has only started, and we began following through on this commitment to bringing together leaders in the fight as our team traveled to Dallas, Texas, to speak with lawmakers and faith leaders at the annual Crimes Against Children Conference.
While in Dallas, we were honored to be invited by our friends at Conservatives for Criminal Justice Reform to join them in speaking with lawmakers from North Carolina. These conversations focused on practical, state-level strategies that can make a tangible difference in dismantling trafficking networks and providing support for survivors.
Our time in Dallas was made even more impactful thanks to our partners at Jaco Booyens Ministries, who graciously hosted us at Mercury One Studios. This setting provided not only a platform for important dialogue but also an environment where we could collaborate with fellow advocates, share best practices, and explore new approaches that North Carolina and other states can adopt as we expose sex and labor traffickers across the country.
The fight against human trafficking demands ongoing cooperation, and we left Dallas more determined than ever to strengthen these partnerships. As we look ahead, our goal is clear: to work hand in hand with state leaders, grassroots advocates, and organizations nationwide to take the next steps in passing meaningful legislation.
By expanding our coalition, maintaining open lines of communication, and focusing on results-driven policy, we can ensure that our efforts lead to lasting change. Together, we can turn the energy and commitments made at the 2025 International Summit into concrete action: protecting more lives, bringing traffickers to justice, and eradicating modern-day slavery.
