"Today, the guns are silent. A great tragedy has ended. A great victory has been won. The skies no longer rain death - the seas bear only commerce - men everywhere walk upright in the sunlight."- General Douglas MacArthur on a radio broadcast on V-J Day marking the end of World War II.
CPAC commemorates the sacrifice of the many brave men and women who fought to protect America and the world from the evils of tyranny and authoritarianism. Their sacrifices on battlefields from the beaches of Normandy to the Seas of the Pacific vouchsafed a free world for all. Their determination in the face of evil not only ended a global conflict but also laid the foundation for a world that values liberty and justice.
CPAC remains committed to fighting for America, remembering our country's great past. We owe them an eternal debt of gratitude, honoring their memory by fostering peace and unity for America, ensuring their sacrifices are never forgotten.
