The House approved an amendment by Republican Congressman Greg Steube (98% CPAC Rating) seeking to further shrink Nigerian aid from 50% to 100% of U.S. aid to the country until the Secretary of State certifies that Nigeria has taken effective steps to prevent, respond to, and hold those accountable for religious violence and Christian Persecution.
The provision is contained in the Fiscal Year 2027 National Security, Department of State, and Related Programs (NSRP) Appropriations Act, championed by fellow Republican Congressman Riley M. Moore (94% CPAC Rating), and aligns with President Trump’s "America First” foreign policy agenda.
