CPAC Condemns Weaponization of Lawfare in Brazil and the Unprecedented Denial of a U.S. Diplomat’s Visit to President Jair Bolsonaro

CPAC strongly condemns the ongoing weaponization of lawfare by Brazil’s President Lula and Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes against former President Jair Bolsonaro and the Brazilian people. What we are witnessing is not justice; it is a tyrannical abuse of judicial power designed to silence political opposition, crush free speech, and rig upcoming elections in favor of the Lula regime.

Justice de Moraes has turned Brazil’s judiciary into a political weapon, imposing unjust convictions, censorship orders, asset freezes, and restrictions that have turned President Bolsonaro into a political prisoner. This is the very definition of lawfare: the malicious use of legal institutions to achieve what could not be won at the ballot box.
