This past weekend, CPAC joined VOX for the VIVA Europa 2025 conference in Spain, uniting global conservatives to strengthen their resolve in the fight for freedom. CPAC Chairman Matt Schlapp and Senior Fellow Mercedes Schlapp, joining remotely, spoke alongside other prominent conservative leaders, including Italy’s Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, Polish President Karol Nawrocki, Hungary’s Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, Argentina’s President Javier Milei, and VOX President Santiago Abascal. Together, they called for unity against globalist tyranny, especially following the tragic assassination of TPUSA Founder Charlie Kirk.
Matt Schlapp reaffirmed CPAC’s commitment to combating communism in Kirk’s memory, stating, “It is out of respect out of Charlie Kirk, that CPAC and all of our activities and community will rededicate ourselves to fighting the communists, to standing up for freedom, and to honor his great, courageous life by taking this fight not only over America but all over the world.” He celebrated conservative victories, including Orbán’s leadership in Hungary, Nawrocki’s election in Poland, and Meloni’s governance in Italy, marking a new era for conservatives. Schlapp also announced upcoming CPAC conferences in Portugal, Japan, and Australia, while urging continued resistance against political persecution, citing Brazil’s Jair Bolsonaro as an example of judicial targeting akin to that faced by President Donald Trump. He called on conservatives to protect their history, traditions, and national sovereignty, particularly in European nations like Spain, constrained by the European Union.
Prime Minister Meloni urged Europeans to counter China and Russia’s influence by countering restrictive “green” policies, recognize Israel’s rights, and demand the release of hostages held by Hamas to resolve the conflict. “The West needs Europe,” she emphasized. Hungary’s Viktor Orbán praised conservative successes but warned against the EU’s globalist agenda, which he said undermines family values, borders, and national defense.“The globalists in Brussels are speaking even more loudly, giving us even tougher measures on how to live.”, Orbán said. Argentina’s Javier Milei condemned the left’s hypocrisy, accusing them of projecting hatred and violence while attempting to erode Western civilization. “If they attack us, it means we are on the right path,” Milei asserted.
The VIVA Europa 2025 conference marked a pivotal moment for global conservatives, uniting leaders to honor Charlie Kirk’s legacy and recommit to the fight for freedom and greater sovereignty. From countering communism and globalist policies to defending national values and supporting allies like Israel, the event underscored the urgency of conservative unity. As CPAC expands its global presence, the call to resist tyranny and uphold Western civilization resonates as a rallying cry for conservatives worldwide.
