CPAC Poland was not only historic as the first CPAC conference in Poland, it was also pivotal, coming at a critical time when the country is in the midst of a tight presidential race.
The Polish presidential race will head into second rounds of voting in early June between liberal Warsaw mayor Rafal Trzaskowski and the conservative candidate Karol Nawrocki. Trzaskowski narrowly topped Nawrocki in the first round, but both failed to secure a winning majority.
The second round of voting is receiving increased interest due to the tight margins between the two candidates and the implications the victor will have of societal trends in Poland. The office of Prime Minister is already held by a liberal, Donald Tusk. A Trzaskowski victory would signal a solid leftward shift in Poland, but a Nawrocki victory would indicate a still, significant conservative mindset among the Polish people.
Nawrocki delivered a keynote speech at CPAC Poland where he expressed his vision for a strong, independent Poland that leads Europe in prosperity and freedom.
“Europe should not be dormant. Europe should not be pushed to the margin of geopolitical changes. Europe should preserve its identity. Europe makes so many mistakes in the past, and now Europe needs a strong, conservative voice that comes also from Poland,” said Nawrocki.
Nawrocki’s policy positions are not much different than those of President Donald Trump. He is a proponent of border security. He supports energy independence. He is pro-national sovereignty and promises to stand up to the globalist bullies in the European Union. He promises to stand up to China and Russia. And he is a willing and eager ally of President Trump and the United States.
Nawrocki stands to fill the shoes of current, conservative Polish President Andrzej Duda. Duda also delivered remarks at CPAC Poland and spoke in favor of continuing to with the United States to keep Poland secure and boost its economy.
“Ladies and gentlemen, as you know, right from the start of my presidency, I have been doing everything in order to tighten ties with the United States of America. I always stress I believe this is a duty of every president of the Republic of Poland,” stated Duda.
Poland faces a turning point in these presidential elections. They face a potentially emboldened Russia as the war in Ukraine drags on, encroachment on their sovereignty and self-determination from EU bureaucrats, and becoming overtaken by the disease of wokeness.
Nawrocki urged, “In these elections, on June 1, our future will be decided, the future of our children, the future of our grandchildren, and all patriotic groups...should come together.”
