Illegal immigration and weak borders bring problems, as President Donald J. Trump and many on the right have been warning for years. This specific crime brings about terrorism, human trafficking, violent crime, economic problems, and the erosion of cultural traditions and values, as well as national identity.
However, weak borders are not a uniquely American problem. In Europe, migrant criminals flood cities, resulting in an uptick in crime, including that of the most horrific variety.
In Italy, illegal immigration has been linked to an increase in sexual abuse and violence against women, with Italian Deputy Premier Matteo Salvini stating that “[Italian National Institute of Statistics] figures correlate the migration phenomenon with an increased number of sexual crimes.”
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni spoke of her solutions for the future on the CPAC stage on Saturday, February 22.
“Will we leave our children a weaker world or a stronger one?” Meloni asked CPAC attendees when discussing defending the Italian border.
Meloni spoke about the necessity of Europeans being unapologetically proud of their European identity, saying that “you cannot defend your freedom if you lack the means and the courage to do so.”
