Guarding the Republic: Confronting Beijing’s Political and Influence Operations in America

For decades, the American conservative movement has stood as the ultimate stronghold against global totalitarianism, prioritizing national sovereignty, free enterprise, and individual liberty. Today, however, our constitutional republic faces a subtle and calculated threat from the shadow operations of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Through vast funding networks and covert influence operations, Beijing is actively attempting to undermine American institutions from within. Understanding these tactics is no longer just a matter of foreign policy, it is a critical imperative for preserving the future of the conservative movement.

The CCP’s strategy relies heavily on what it calls "United Front" work, a coordinated effort to leverage economic incentives and political access to manipulate decision-makers. We see this in practice when former elected officials and political insiders lobby state and federal governments on behalf of Chinese state-linked corporations, effectively trading long-term American national security for short-term profits. Beijing has heavily weaponized soft power, spending millions to fund Confucius Institutes on college campuses, hold stakes in U.S. media outlets, and infiltrate American capital markets. These operations aim to quietly soften public resistance, police speech, and reshape public policy in favor of authoritarian interests.

These foreign influence campaigns pose a direct threat to the core pillars of the conservative movement. Conservatism relies on local governance, transparent economic markets, and standard democratic accountability. When a foreign adversary uses murky supply chains, illicit funding, and elite buy-offs to dictate American policy, it wears away at the sovereignty of the ballot box and undermines free-market principles. The CCP does not play by the rules of capitalism; it uses state-backed enterprise to hollow out American manufacturing, compromise supply chains, and build domestic dependence on a hostile regime.

To safeguard our republic, conservatives must lead the charge in exposing and dismantling Beijing’s foreign influence apparatus. This means strengthening laws that keep Chinese influence out, banning CCP-linked entities from buying strategic American farmland, and keeping foreign capital out of U.S. political campaigns. The conservative movement succeeded in dismantling the Soviet empire through clarity, strength, and an unwavering commitment to liberty. Confronting the CCP’s covert war on American soil requires that same unyielding resolve today.
