It is a statement from blue-collar, hard-working, average Americans that they will not be put down for their beliefs and for wanting to create better lives for themselves and their families.

"They are winning tonight. They are the ones that finally said, 'Yes, my voice was heard,' and I think that's the beauty of this particular election is that Donald Trump spoke to every single one of those union workers, McDonald's workers, the garbage man. Those were the people he was talking to and it resonated because they are tired of the elitists," said Mercedes Schlapp of the significance of Trump's victory.
