Protecting America's Borders: DHS Kristi Noem at CPAC in DC 2025

The Department of Homeland Security is a subject of scrutiny among conservatives, and for good reason. Too often have human rights been violated under the guise of “national security.” However, Kristi Noem, the Secretary of Homeland Security, has a vision to reform the agency, starting with shifting its focus to dealing with a threat that the Biden administration long ignored: our weak borders. 

Noem spoke of this vision on Friday, February 21, during CPAC’s Reagan Dinner, at which she was the featured speaker. She spoke of the mainstream media’s lie that mass deportations are of innocent people, instead describing what kinds of people were really being deported. 

“They were very dangerous people that had warrants for murder, assault, drug and human trafficking,” Noem explained, adding that, due to the mass deportations, recruitment has skyrocketed for border patrol agencies when earlier, morale was low because “you had people that signed up for a job that weren’t being allowed the last four years to do their jobs.” 

Now that President Donald J. Trump is back in the White House, however, Noem and the Department of Homeland Security, as well as other agencies, are able to fully commit to undoing the damage that Biden’s open border policy caused.
