Chip Roy is the U.S. Representative for Texas' 21st Congressional District, a position he has held since 2019. His professional experience is rooted in high-level legal and policy roles, including serving as the First Assistant Attorney General of Texas under Ken Paxton and as the Chief of Staff to Senator Ted Cruz. A former federal prosecutor and staffer for the Senate Judiciary Committee, Roy has established himself as a leading voice in the House Freedom Caucus, where he is known for his strict adherence to constitutional conservatism and fiscal discipline. In the 119th Congress (2025–2027), he holds influential assignments on the House Judiciary, Rules, and Budget Committees. He is currently running in the 2026 Texas Attorney General race, having advanced to a May runoff for the Republican nomination, while continuing to focusing on border security codification, federal spending reductions, and election integrity. He is the author of the SAVE America Act, a critical piece of legislation for election security and defending the future of our democracy.
