CPAC’s Center for Combating Human Trafficking will host the third annual International Summit Against Human Trafficking at the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C, alongside international partners at Kaleido on Wednesday, July 23, 9:00 AM-3:00 PM. This pivotal event upholds CPAC's steadfast dedication to eradicating modern-day slavery by uniting survivors, legislators, advocates, and law enforcement from both domestic and international communities to drive bold solutions.
This past year, CPAC’s Center for Combating Human Trafficking worked tirelessly with state lawmakers across the country to promote legislation that protects victims, such as Texas SB 1278, which provides greater affirmative protections for victims, and Arkansas’s Child Trafficking Victims Protection and Restoration Act.
The Center has also worked with Congress to promote the Trafficking Survivors Relief Act, which provides criminal record relief to victims, and to pass the One Big Beautiful Bill, which combats the open border and cartels that exacerbate the human trafficking crisis.
Last year’s 2024 summit was a tremendous success bringing together lawmakers like Utah Rep. Burgess Owens and Wyoming Rep. Harriet Hageman, activists such as Rosi Orozco and Elizabeth Ameling, world leaders including Atlixco, Mexico President Ariadna Ayala Camarillo, and Virginia Anti-Human Trafficking Director Tanya Gould to expose human trafficking's cruelties and collaborate on solutions for victims.
This year’s summit features a compelling lineup of speakers, including national leaders and former Trump Administration officials from the DOJ, HHS, and the White House, who will discuss policies to advance anti-trafficking efforts, protect victims, and hold traffickers accountable.
Featured speakers include Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-TN), Congressman Andy Biggs (R-AZ), Congressman Burgess Owens, Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr, Alaska Attorney General Treg Taylor, Pennsylvania Attorney General Dave Sunday, and Viva México Director Eduardo Verástegui.
The summit will highlight survivor leaders, law enforcement, and policy advocates working to end modern-day slavery, offering practical insights into domestic and international anti-human trafficking strategies. Attendees will also learn how they can make a difference in combating modern-day slavery. As CPAC’s Center for Combating Human Trafficking drives the bipartisan national conversation on combating trafficking, this event promises to be a landmark gathering.
