CPAC Releases Indiana Legislative Scorecard, Revealing a Legislature Trailing Behind Other Red States. ALEXANDRIA, VA (January 10, 2024) — CPAC Foundation’s analysis shows that Republicans in both chambers of the legislature voted less conservatively overall than they did in previous year. Democrats joined the Republicans in this decrease, with average scores falling by 4%. SEE SCORECARD HERE “Indiana succeeded last session by passing strong legislation to protect parental rights and end the destructive promotion of ESG in state pensions.” said CPAC Chairman Matt Schlapp. “With an overwhelming republican majority, we are hopeful the Hoosier state will build off these victories this session.” In 2023, Matt Hostettler (92%) was the only member of the legislature to earn CPAC’s Award for Conservative Excellence for voting with the conservative position at least 90% of the time during the 2023 session. Trump’s speech. President Trump’s full speech can be viewed here . Dear Mr. Pichai: Once again, Google has chosen to play politics and censor, using its market dominant position to do so. While we are disappointed, we are not surprised. I recently learned that you have inappropriately taken down CPAC’s entire Saturday, February 26th livestream content from our recent conference in Orlando, Florida. In addition, you issued CPAC a “strike” for citing “mis-information” regarding the 2020 presidential election. Regardless of your personal beliefs and those of your senior leadership (not to mention your absolute liberal bias), there remain very serious questions about the way the 2020 election was conducted. Removing our content does not erase those questions, no matter how hard you try. Indeed, it is telling you offer no evidence that would demonstrate any falsity in the content you censored. Moreover, your action was needlessly indiscriminate. Aside from a discussion of the 2020 election, topics you censored include: Putin’s thuggery, the rise of antisemitism, and the need to value all human life. But I guess those concepts can be sacrificed on the altar of Orwellian political correctness. How ironic that during a dangerous time when autocrats like Vladimir Putin deny free people their rights in Russia and the Ukraine, Google would act similarly to stifle differing perspectives here at home. We all lament the destruction of civil discourse. But make no mistake, Google’s actions to suppress freedom of speech, thought and expression are what truly destroys civil discourse. It is when people are not allowed to express themselves freely that they take matters into their own hands. Such treatment of Americans cannot stand. CPAC will appropriately use its voice to urge conservatives in state capitals across the country, and the new majority in Congress come November – to pursue appropriate government regulation and legislation to hold Google accountable for its censorship. Neither Google nor its YouTube subsidiary can be allowed to run roughshod over the rights of Americans who are simply voicing their political beliefs. Hawaii Ranked 2nd Most Liberal State in Nation CPAC Releases New Voting Analysis of All 7,400 State Lawmakers ALEXANDRIA, VA (October 20, 2022) — Hawaii has earned the title of 2nd most liberal state in the nation after plunging in the annual 50 state analysis conducted by the Center for Legislative Accountability (CLA), a project of CPAC Foundation and the American Conservative Union Foundation. In CPAC’s analysis of all 7,400 state lawmakers in America, the Hawaii legislature earned a conservative rating of a mere 19% (a significant drop from the 23% in 2020). Rhode Island now only trails Massachusetts (15%) as most liberal in America. The conservative rating is calculated through CPAC’s legislative scorecards and is based on lawmaker voting across 186 policy areas ranging from cultural and life issues to tax, fiscal, and regulatory policies. Each year the CLA tallies over 320,000 votes to generate the scores. CPAC Issues Pledge to Prospective Republican Leadership Regarding Woke Companies CPAC Issues Pledge to Prospective Republican Leadership Regarding Woke Companies Alexandria, VA — CPAC Chairman Matt Schlapp sent the following letter issuing a pledge to prospective Republican leadership regarding woke companies. Dear Congressman, As Republicans prepare for a new dawn in Congress, CPAC has been courted for our endorsement in various leadership races and for chairmanships. The first step to earn our support is a new shared strategy to reprimand corporations that have gone woke. Specifically, these companies have colluded with the Biden Administration to silence conservative voices; promoted lies about Voter ID and chose not to support conservatives who stand for fair elections; Are paying for the travel costs for employee abortions (including late-term) subsidized by their customers, a majority of which stand for life; Are promoting radical gender theory and gender modification onto our children; And supported the anti-police BLM movement that wreaked havoc on streets and in neighborhoods across the county and has contributed to a spike in violent crime. Pledge that you will not meet with these CEOs or their leadership teams, especially their Government Affairs staff, who have been hostile to policies that help all Americans, until they change their ways. To stop them from doing so requires leadership. Woke CEOs turned their backs on conservative leaders after the last election. For the first time in almost 30 years, Republicans will achieve a majority largely without the support of Fortune 100 companies. Instead, conservatives will take control led by activists and entrepreneurs who are exhausted and offended by the radical left policies pushed by these publicly traded companies. With new, conservative majorities, these same corporate woke elitist will be back on Capitol Hill, trying to cozy back up to conservatives. CPAC calls on you to take a stand and not allow this to happen without a renunciation of woke policies and racist attacks on the GOP. This is the Republican Party’s moment to declare independence from corporate special interest money that flows from left leaning large publicly traded companies who in the end don’t believe that America is a special place and work to undermine those institutions and society that uphold Western civilization.
