It also requires the legislature to consider ways in which it can provide financial incentives to help offset the cost of making the production of cement less energy-intensive. Ratings Lawmakers Search Bill Search Congress States Archives Home S 264 Fewer Contracts and No Agricultural Land for Foreign Countries of Concern. 2023 - Florida House of Representatives Vote Description This bill prohibits the government from giving out public contracts to China, Russia, Iran, North Korea, Cuba, Venezuela, and Syria when doing so would allow any of these governments to access a person’s private information. The bill also prohibits the government from offering economic incentives to the governments of these countries. Additionally, it prohibits these governments from purchasing a controlling interest in any plot of Florida’s agricultural land. CPAC supports appropriate efforts to further the US’ security interests and supported this bill. The House passed this bill on May 4, 2023 by a vote of 95-17 and the bill later became law. Matt Schlapp Statement in Support of Youngkin Tax Cut Proposal Matt Schlapp Statement in Support of Youngkin Tax Cut Proposal “Alexandria, VA — Matt Schlapp released the following statement in Support of Youngkin Tax Cut Proposal. “As the failed policies of the Biden administration continue to cause rampant inflation and shrink the United States economy, families across America need real relief that grows the economy. “As such, CPAC strongly supports Gov. Glenn Youngkin’s plan to provide meaningful tax cuts for Virginians. Under the proposal, the top income tax is reduced from 5.75% to 5.5%, which would save the average family of four $578 a year. In addition, the plan would make Virginia more competitive for businesses by lowering the corporate tax rate from 6% to 5%, while allowing a 10% business income tax deduction for small businesses. “Currently, Virginia has the 25th highest top income tax rate on individuals in the United States and the 20th lowest corporate tax rate. Under the proposal, Virginia would improve their standing to the 23rd lowest in individual income tax and tied for 14th lowest corporate tax rate. “With Gov. Youngkin’s successful leadership, the state’s rainy-day fund is on track to hit $4.2 billion by the end of fiscal 2024. Instead of spending increased tax revenue on duplicative government services, Gov. CPAC Releases 2024 Florida Scorecard CPAC Releases 2024 Florida Scorecard The eleventh edition of the Florida CPAC Scorecard assesses 17 votes in the Florida State House and 16 votes in the Florida State Senate from the 2024 Regular Session. The Florida State Senate Republicans averaged 91% and the Florida Senate Democrats averaged 18% for an overall State Senate average of 71%. Meanwhile Florida House Republicans averaged 93% and the Florida House Democrats averaged 13% for an overall average of 72%. These scores are well above the average score for Republicans and secures Florida's place as a conservative stronghold in 2024. The biggest issues in the 2024 session were securing the border, fighting radical woke ideology, and protecting parents right. CASM Statement on Senate Democrats’ Recent Drug Price Setting Agreement CASM Statement on Senate Democrats’ Recent Drug Price Setting Agreement ALEXANDRIA, VA, July 7, 2022 – The Coalition Against Socialized Medicine (CASM), a broad coalition of leading conservative and free-market groups such as the Conservative Political Action Coalition (CPAC), Heritage Action, FreedomWorks, the National Taxpayers Union, Club for Growth, Citizens Against Government Waste, American Commitment, and the Committee to Unleash Prosperity, has issued the following statement on Senate Democrats’ latest drug price setting agreement, attributable to CASM’s Executive Director Jack Kalavritinos. “This latest drug pricing deal is nothing more than a desperate attempt by Democrats to resurrect the same far-left, socialist-style price-setting schemes they have tried to jam down the throats of America patients many times before to appease their AOC-Sanders-Pelosi-supporting base ahead of the midterm elections. “Despite what left-wing politicians want you to think, price controls would have devastating impacts on patient access and innovation.
