The socialist dictator has been charged with conspiring to traffic illegal drugs into our country and using his power as the leader of a drug cartel in Venezuela to pose an ongoing threat to the United States.

America has to walk a careful line when confronting murderous dictators. She should always stand for human rights, but we also cannot intervene without patient examination of the equities involved. We also cannot assume that the past Venezuelan prosperity will be easy to recapture.
