CPAC Releases Missouri Legislative Scorecard, Exposing Republican Senate Leadership Failing to Pass Conservative Priorities
ALEXANDRIA, VA (January 4, 2024) — CPAC Foundation’s latest analysis reveals the full extent of Missouri’s failure to pass conservative policy. Of all the bills rated positively by CPAC, only two of these bills were passed into law. This consequence was mostly a result of actions taken by the Senate, which stalled conservative bills sent to it by the House.
“It’s unacceptable that despite Republican supermajorities Senate leadership killed most of the conservative bills placed before it, while both chambers forked over taxpayer money to a host of crony spending initiatives,” said CPAC Chairman Matt Schlapp. “We hope conservatives will stand strong this session and correct course.”
CPAC recognizes several Missouri state legislators for their conservative voting records. The following members of the Missouri State Legislature earned CPAC’s Award for Conservative Excellence for voting with the conservative position at least 90% of the time during the 2023 session:

The bills featured in CPAC’s 2023 Ratings of Missouri strengthen Second Amendment rights, protect life, prevent ranked-choice voting, and defend women’s sports. These issues, coupled with our mission to protect life, liberty, property and uphold the American family, created the basis by which the CPAC Foundation rated the Missouri legislature.
The Center for Legislative Accountability (CLA), an initiative of the CPAC Foundation, is the premier organization for holding lawmakers accountable. The CLA produces the longest-running conservative congressional scorecard and our state program is the only one in the nation that scores all 8,000 lawmakers in the 50 states across every policy area.
