CPAC Releases 10th Edition of Idaho Legislative Scorecard, Revealing a Conservative Stronghold in the West

This year’s CPAC ratings of Idaho reveal a state that’s trending conservative, with Republicans in both chambers averaging an 84% conservative rating. Last session, Idaho legislators were champions of parental rights and protections of children from gruesome gender mutilation and indoctrination. They took the initiative to safeguard elections and worked to eliminate ESG and DEI poison from state programs.
“Idaho has made great strides in the last two years towards establishing a conservative stronghold out west,” said CPAC Chairman Matt Schlapp. “Last session, legislators were tough on the Left’s woke ideologies and election interference. This year, we hope Idaho legislators continue making their state a conservative powerhouse.”

CPAC recognizes several Idaho state legislators for their conservative voting records. The following members of the Idaho State Legislature earned CPAC’s Award for Conservative Excellence for voting with the conservative position at least 90% of the time during the 2024 session:
Senate:
Phil Hart (96%)
Cindy Carlson (93%)
Daniel Foreman (93%)
Scott Herndon (93%)
Tammy Nichols (93%)
Doug Okuniewick (93%)
Ben Toews (93%)
Brian Lenney (92%)
House:

Jeff Ehlers (93%)
Jacyn Gallagher (93%)
James Holtzclaw (93%)
Elaine Price (93%)
Tony Wisniewski (93%)
Julianne Young (93%)

Additionally, many lawmakers in the Idaho State Legislature earned CPAC’s Award for Conservative Achievement for voting with the conservative position at least 80% of the time during the 2024 session.
The bills featured in CPAC’s 2024 Ratings of Idaho address election integrity, DEI, parental rights, and protecting children from mutilation and indoctrination. These issues, coupled with our mission to protect life, liberty, and property and to uphold the American family, created the basis by which the CPAC Foundation rated the Idaho legislature.
The Center for Legislative Accountability (CLA), an initiative of the CPAC Foundation, is the premier organization for holding lawmakers accountable. The CLA produces the longest-running conservative congressional scorecard, and our state program is the only one in the nation that scores nearly 8,000 lawmakers in the 50 states across every policy area.
