The Socialist Democrats are addicted to big government spending and massive deficits. While they are fighting for wasteful spending on illegals, President Trump is fighting to protect Americans' hard-earned tax dollars and American citizens. Republicans need to embrace the Trump standard of actually fighting and drawing a line in the sand on the Socialist Democrats’ radical policies.

As CPAC has consistently said, "shut downs" that only shut down 17% of the federal government, while allowing 83% of government functions to continue, are NOT full shutdowns. It only underscores the bloated nature of our federal spending and the urgent need to get things under control. We cannot let unfounded panic deter us from curbing wasteful spending of tax payer dollars.

Going forward, Republican budget and appropriation committee members need to honor the mandate given to President Trump almost a year ago. We will never have a law-based immigration process if our government continues to subsidize illegal and unwanted immigration.
