Massachusetts Ranked Most Liberal In Nation
New CPAC and ACUF scorecard evaluates lawmakers across 186 policies
ALEXANDRIA, VA (October 28, 2021)—The Massachusetts legislature has been named the most liberal in the nation. That’s according to a new analysis conducted by the Conservative Political Action Conference, or CPAC, and the American Conservative Union Foundation, (ACUF). The analysis reviewed the voting records of over 8,000 elected officials across all 50 states, and found that only 16 percent of votes cast by Massachusetts lawmakers were aligned with the conservative position.
Only nine of the 200 members of the Massachusetts legislature received scores greater than 80% and will be presented awards by ACUF: Rep. Shawn Dooley (94%), Rep. Peter Durant (94%), Rep. Donald Berthiaume Jr. (94%), Sen. Dean Tran (89%), Rep. David DeCoste (88%), Rep. Randy Hunt (87%), Rep. Jay Barrows (82%), Rep. Susan Williams Gifford (82%), Rep. Alyson Sullivan (82%).
