Statement from Matt Schlapp

My message to young people who are so impacted by Charlie Kirk:

You'd make Charlie awfully proud if you continued fighting. But also if you fought in a way where at the end of the day, you can go have a cup of coffee with someone who you disagree with, and show that there's a humanity to this important endeavor that we're involved in.

Hong Kong Statement

China is attacking freedoms in Hong Kong. The Chinese imposed National Security Law is being used against pro-democracy warriors who are fighting for freedom. We met Benny Tai in 2019 when CPAC traveled to Hong Kong to support the pro-freedom movement. Benny Tai and the others arrested are putting their lives on the line as they stood up for democracy.

The government of Hong Kong, controlled by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), wants to silence the will of the people. Because of Benny Tai and the courageous 47, a light is shining on the injustices imposed by the totalitarian government.

CPAC will always support those who put their lives on the line for freedom. Under the new Trump administration, bad actors like the CCP will be put on notice that all people, not just Americans, deserve their voices to be heard. As our international movement grows, we will bring these stories out from the shadows and put the world on notice that there is change coming.
