Senator Joni Ernst (R-IA), who serves on the Senate Homeland Security Committee, discussed the enduring impact of Operation Midnight Hammer, which targeted and destroyed nuclear development and research sites in Iran. She explained on Newsline with host Bianca de la Garza why this operation should discourage Iran from pursuing uranium enrichment and furthering its nuclear development program.
While visiting Turnberry, Scotland, and meeting with leaders in the United Kingdom, President Trump cautioned Iran against advancing its nuclear program by enriching uranium, stating that such actions would lead to severe consequences. Ernst commented, “I fully agree with the President that if Iran pursues nuclear enrichment, it would be a very stupid move on their part.”
Ernst mentioned that Iran is limited to "saber rattling" since their military and nuclear capabilities have been greatly reduced due to the successful Operation Midnight Hammer. “The Iranians don't really have the capabilities to push back against Israel or the United States.”, said Ernst.
