Ratings Lawmakers Search Bill Search Congress States Archives Home S 254 Protecting Minors from Radical Gender Surgeries. 2023 - Florida Senate Vote Description This bill prohibits public entities from using taxpayer funds to help minors procure radical gender surgeries and hormone therapy drugs. The bill also allows the government to suspend the license of healthcare practitioners who perform radical gender surgeries on minors. CPAC opposes the mutilation and castration of minors and supported this bill. The Senate passed this bill on May 4, 2023 by a vote of 26-13 and the bill later became law. Sen. Trumbull later voted Yea after the initial roll call vote. CPAC opposes the sending out of unsolicited absentee ballot applications and supported this bill. The House passed this bill on March 17, 2023 by a vote of 47-22 but the bill did not progress in the Senate.
