Before President Trump began his second term earlier this year, drug and human trafficking surged in the United States due to the Biden administration’s open-border policies. In a recent episode, Ben Shapiro highlighted the sinking of a boat carrying illegal drugs bound for the U.S., questioning why some are upset about the elimination of criminals in the effort to create a safer America.
On Tuesday, President Trump announced that the U.S. had sunk a boat operated by the Venezuelan Tren de Aragua gang, a designated foreign terrorist organization, which was transporting illegal drugs. “Let this serve as a warning to anyone considering smuggling drugs into the United States. Proceed with caution,” Trump stated. This action follows his announcement of a $20 million reward for the capture of Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro, who has been implicated in facilitating drug trafficking into the U.S.
Shapiro questioned the backlash from liberals on social media, who have criticized Trump’s actions to block destructive illegal drugs from entering the country. He argued that this outrage underscores the Democratic Party’s tendency to defend criminals, even taking illogical stances to oppose Trump’s policies. “For some reason, people are upset about this,” Shapiro said. “I’m not sure why. Eliminating Tren de Aragua drug traffickers makes the world a better place.”
